Lake Bunyonyi
Often called the ‘Switzerland of Africa,’ Lake Bunyonyi’s 29 terraced islands sit in a valley surrounded by terracotta hills and banana plantations. Traditional dugout canoe trips reveal hidden coves, over-water bird hides and local island homesteads where you can sample freshly caught fish roasted on open fires. Hiking trails through coffee farms, community-run homestays and evening cultural performances round out the immersive experience.
